Rod Ellis 是我最景仰的知名学者之一。研一的时候，在梅德明教授的指导下，系统学习了Rod Ellis关于二语习得的著作，这段经历至今我仍认为是我最宝贵的收获。整个研究生课程中，我最喜爱的是研一梅德明教授开的二语习得，跟后来参加上外学术论文节准备参赛论文时一道成为我终生难忘的两个阶段。现在回想起来，感觉非常美好。
明天Rod Ellis将出席在上外举办的国际外语教学法研讨会，我一定要去看这位偶像。特整理他的资料如下：
Rod Ellis is Professor in the Department of Applied Linguistics and Linguistics at the University of Auckland. His research interests lie in the area of Second Language Acquisition with a special emphasis on the acquisition of a second language in a formal setting. He has an international profile due to his extensive publication record. His recent publications include the book Task-based Language Learning and Teaching, Oxford University Press, 2003. He has made numerous contributions to leading journals in his field such as Applied Linguistics, Language Learning, TESOL Quarterly and Studies in Second Language Acquisition. Professor Ellis is currently working on a funded project on The Role of Explicit Knowledge of a Second Language in Proficiency and Acquisition and on another project examining Focus-on-Form in Communicative ESL Lessons.
